Tom

Tom

It was one of those perfect fall September days, the sun was warm, the trees were turning, they had become that copper gold colour.
It was one of those days you wanted to drive with the windows open and the radio up.
I was driving passed the college when a car pulled out in front of me. Inside were four young ladies coming from the college.
On the radio was playing Tom Petty’s “You Don’t Know How It Feels“. This song has a strong defined drum beat. If you have ever heard the song, you know what I’m talking about.
It turns out the girls in the car in front of me are listening to the same station. I know this because every time the song hit that beat, the girls bounce in their seats. They are laughing and had smiles on their faces.
Perfect.
This is how I’m going to always remember my radio friend Tom.

  1. I have never been heard of this song before and it sounds really good to listen. Most of the time music really helps you to bring back those good or bad memory.

  2. This is a really nice story. It’s amazing how a little bit of music can bring back so many memories.

  3. Yup, it’s awesome how music, sound, smell, touch, taste have such a profound effect on us. They can all bring back extremely vivid memories…Some of the most amazing senses, have a defined memory attached along with it.

But also, certain sounds, songs, smells can bring back extremely sad, terrifying, or unpleasant emotions as well!

    i love Tom Petty btw!

  6. This sounds like such a nice memory. It is the little ones that sometimes seem to stand out the most in our minds.
